Trimble County softball powered through a one win Eminence team en route to a 17-0 shutout in three innings on Thursday, May 2.

The lopsided road win followed a 19-0 Trimble win over the Warriors on April 30 in Bedford as the Raiders improved to 16-11 overall and 6-2 in 31st District seeding games with only a two game series with Owen County left to set the brackets for the postseason.

Trimble scored six runs in the top half of the opening inning and erupted for eight runs one inning later. The Raiders added three runs in the top half of the third while shutting out Eminence on an Alyssa Ritchie one-hitter — the freshman right-hander needed only 30 pitches overall — to end the game early on the mercy rule.

Morgan Rucker started in the circle for the Warriors and Mattalina Tillett pitched two innings in relief.

Trimble County scored 17 runs on nine hits as Jaelyn Holbrook had double and a single and three RBIs to lead the way, Lily Truman had two hits and one RBI, Shelby Wright a hit and two RBIs, Courtney Douglas a hit and an RBI and Ritchie, Jocie Stucker and Alanna Washington had a hit each while Hannah Chilton had an RBI.

Leadoff batter Jnya Johnson connected for Eminence’s lone hit to breaking up the no-hitter.

Hannah Chilton pitched the one-hit win with five strikeouts. Rucker started in the circle for Eminence and took the loss with relief by Lillian Payton and Tillett.

Trimble County scored 19 runs on 11 hits as Douglas had a double, a triple and four RBIs, Holbrook had two hits and three RBIs, Chilton a hit and two RBIs, Wright two hits and one RBI, Truman and Stucker one hit and two RBIs each, Ritchie a hit and an RBI, Alanna Washington a hit and Savannah Oldson an RBI.

The Raiders were scheduled to visit Western Hills on Wednesday in Frankfort and face Owen in an away/home series Thursday and Friday before visiting Cornerstone Christian on Saturday.
