    The traveling Trimble County Lady Raiders closed out the 2018-19 basketball regular season last week with three losses as they geared up for this week’s 29th District Tournament.

    The seniors took to Trimble’s basketball court for a competition one final time on Monday night. Unfortunately, it was not the finale the home team had hoped for as the Raiders fell to Gallatin, 76-42, the second loss of the week to the Wildcats.

    Trimble County High School observed its annual “Pink Night” game Friday to benefit the Trimble County Relay for Life.

    In warm-up exercises prior to the contest both the Trimble County Lady Raiders and Owen County Lady Rebels teams were decked out in pink T-shirts emblazoned with the appropriate cancer-battling slogan: “Ready for the Fight, Determined to Win!”

    After a five-game win streak, the recent momentum for the Trimble County Raiders hit a few bumps to break the winning record with a 69-57 loss to the Spencer County Bears Friday night in Bedford.

    Energized by the eight-point offensive effort by junior guard Colby O’Connor, the Trimble County Lady Raiders raced out to a 15-9 advantage over Gallatin County at the first quarter stop, but the visiting Lady Wildcats came alive offensively the rest of the way en route to a 50-41 win.

    Although a loss for Trimble, the game marked a huge turnaround for a young team that had fallen by a 73-48 score at Warsaw on Dec. 10.

  • Raiders defeat Brown at home,...

    The Trimble County Raiders got to add two more wins to their season record in last week’s action against Brown at home Tuesday night and at Villa Madonna Saturday.

    In a tough first quarter of shooting, the Bears were only able to get three points on the board while Trimble used that to its advantage and had 14 points. Trimble went into the half with 34 points on the scoreboard, but let Brown catch up to 22 points.

    Three wins in a row! The youthful Trimble County Lady Raiders have been celebrating some joyful times on the basketball court over the past couple of weeks. Coach Kerry Stewart’s cagers picked up their sixth win of the season Monday and extended their winning streak by downing visiting Iroquois 50-38 in Bedford.

    After an 82-44 loss on the road to South Oldham Thursday and a 46-30 loss to Williamstown Saturday, the Lady Raiders returned to the familiar confines of the TCHS gym in order to face the neighboring Henry County Ladycats.

    Inside the four walls of Trimble County High School’s gymnasium, a lot of basketball action took place last week as the Raiders hosted the Eighth Region All “A” Classic. The Raiders opened the first round with a victory over the Owen County Rebels, 71-50, before matching up against the Walton-Verona Bearcats.
