  • Elementary Raider teams complete undefeated season
    Trimble’s fifth grade basketball team took on Switzerland County for a shot at going undefeated in the Van Wye league in Madison, IN. The Raiders were very lackadaisical at the game, seemed to have no energy and didn’t play like themselves in the game. They pressed in the first half, which helped account for 21 steals for the game but the Raiders also amassed 11 fouls for the half. Trimble went into halftime down 12-10.
  • Tryouts for Little League baseball Feb. 11
    By Craig Lacefield Special to The Trimble Banner Tryouts for Trimble County Little League Baseball are right around the corner. The league will hold tryouts on Feb. 11 at the Morgan Community Center. The league will make several changes this year. The first change you see is the name, we will be affiliating with Little League this year. This adds several benefits, from insurance, training of umpires, a structured All Star playoff, and having inter-league games with other Little Leagues.

  • Youth football squad: Winless no more
    By TODD POLLOCK Special to The Trimble Banner After three consecutive seasons without a win, the drought is over for the varsity squad of the Trimble County Youth Tackle Football League. On Saturday, Aug. 27, the young Raiders demolished the Eastern Henry County Colts 26-0 a week after being beaten 14-0 by the Campbellsburg Bengals.

  • Summer league baseball tournament action
    An exciting weekend was had by all the weekend of June 10th as the Trimble County Youth Baseball League hosted a Home Run Derby, skills competition and a tournament.
  • Wrestling roundup
    Students from Punishment Wrestling Academy in Milton, Ky have been busy this month. On Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14 Brody Cull, 7, and Skylar Lee, 9, participated in the Kentucky State Freestyle, Greco-Roman, Folkstyle and Sombo Tournament at Louisville’s Central High School. Brody, son of Daniel and Christy Cull of Bedford, placed second in Greco Roman, third in FreeStyle and Folkstyle and was State Champion in Sombo in the Bantam Division.
  • Trimble wrestlers in area meets
    Indiana events On Saturday, April 23, Christian Academy of southern Indiana in New Albany held the Lil Warrior Beginners Folkstyle Open Wrestling Tournament. Brady Cull, seven-year-old son of Daniel and Christy Cull of Bedford won first place, a Gold medal. Bryce Turner, 8, son of Chris Turner, Bedford and Devin Turner, Salem, Ind., won first place receiving a Gold medal in the Bantam Division of the “Indian Creek Freestyle Open Wrestling Tournament.” This tournament was held at Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Ind.
