  • 3 incumbents, 2 newcomers win

    There will be two new members of next year’s Trimble County Fiscal Court as a result of Tuesday’s Democrat Primary Election. Don McCarty and Kenny Green will join incumbent David Scott and a fourth magistrate who will be determined by the Nov. 4 General Election. While incumbent Nolan Hamilton, Jr., defeated Travis Webster in the Democratic Primary for the District 1 seat, Hamilton faces Republican challenger William E. Sizemore in the fall.

  • Lane closures on Milton-Madison Bridge this week

    There will be two separate overnight lane closures on the Milton-Madison Bridge this week as construction crews perform additional work following the historic slide of the bridge and its reopening last month. The bridge will be reduced to one lane, but will remain open, while the following work is being done:

  • Liberty Road to be closed on May 14

    Louisville, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 Office advises motorists that KY 2890 (Liberty Road) in Trimble County will be closed for cross-drain replacement on Wednesday, May 14.

     

    Liberty Road will be closed at mile point 2.3 between Race Track Road and Detmer Lane. This road closure is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Access will be provided for emergency vehicles only. The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

  • BRIDGE REOPENS!

    A week after the historic slide of the Milton-Madison Bridge, traffic is again flowing across the Ohio River span that connects Milton, Ky. and Madison, Ind. via U.S. Highway 421. The bridge reopened to all motorists Thursday evening at 7:20 p.m.

    Louisville, KY – The latest Marketbasket Survey, conducted by the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation in March 2014, indicates that average retail food prices in supermarkets across the state are holding fairly steady with just slight increases reported in the first quarter of the year. According to the survey findings, the total cost of 40 basic grocery items was $120.69. These results were $0.61, or 0.5 percent, higher than the same list of items reported in the fourth quarter of 2014, the previous record high.
