  • PSC OKs settlement in LG&E and KU rate cases

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Public Service Commission on Thursday accepted a settlement granting revenue adjustments that increase the base electric rates for customers of Kentucky Utilities Co. and the base electric and natural gas rates for customers of Louisville Gas and Electric Co.

  • Bridge snow removal plan explained

    Plans are in place to manage snow and ice removal from the Milton-Madison Bridge during the winter.

    With the first bit of light snowfall around the area Thursday evening, some residents may have been curious about the methods the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s highway crews will use to keep the weight-restricted bridge open to traffic during severe weather.

  • New Year’s Day holiday closings

    The following business  and office closures have been announced for the New Years Day holiday:
    Trimble County Schools are closed through Wednesday, Jan. 2 and  will reopen Thursday, Jan. 3,.

    Bedford City Hall and Morgan Community Center will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, for New Years.

    Rumpke Garbage pickup will be on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

    Milton City Hall and Water and Sewer Dept. will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

    Milton Commission

    A number of items were addressed during the business conducted at the Dec. 13 meeting of the Milton City Commission.

    Jeff Woods of Raisor, Zapp and Woods updated the commission on the city’s yearly audit. According to Woods, the city’s anticipated $108,000 general fund expenditures cost $33,000 more than expected.

    Wednesday, Jan. 2
    Trimble County High School basketball teams host Oldham County in a varsity doubleheader. The boys’ varsity  game begins at 6 p.m. The girls’ varsity game starts at 8 p.m.

    Thursday, Jan. 3
    The Trimble County Hymn Sing is 7 p.m. at Bedford United Methodist Church.

    Friday, Jan. 4
    The Trimble County Raiders basketball team hosts Williamstown. Varsity  game begins at 7:30 p.m.
