  • KSP plans checkpoints

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of October 22 - November 5, 2012.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers.  Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.

  • County oks first payment to I-71 Task Force

    Trimble County Fiscal Court on Monday approved the first payment of $7,500 as half of the annual fee required of each county to be part of the I-71 Corridor Regional Task Force, Inc.

    The judge-executives from Carroll, Gallatin, Henry, Oldham, Owen and Trimble counties formed the organization in June with the goal of expanding local businesses and employment.

  • Trimble students in SkillsUSA conference

    Leadership training was the main focus this week of the statewide SkillsUSA conference at General Butler State Resort Park, but community service was the centerpiece of the three-day event.

    On Monday, more than 100 students from around Kentucky, including many from Carroll and Trimble counties, arrived early Monday to work on several projects to beautify the various areas of the park.

  • Meet the Artists reception Saturday at library

    The Trimble County Arts Council is sponsoring the Judith Pratt Shields Memorial Exhibition, featuring works by local artists. The exhibit is on display during the month of October at the Trimble County Public Library.

    The community is invited to a Meet the Artists reception this Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3-5 p.m. in the community room at the library.

    RICHMOND, KY -- More than 2,400 new freshmen enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University this fall. The number includes the following local students: Kayla Kidwell, Bedford; Mackenzie  Sutherland, Bedford; Craig Ward, Campbellsburg; Konnor Kimmel, Milton; Michael Gonterman, Milton; and Skiler Alexander, Milton.
