    30 Years Ago (Dec. 9, 1982)
     Federal law requires counties surrounding a nuclear power plant to have a plan in the event of a radiological emergency. The first meeting for preparing such a plan was held last Tuesday evening at the courthouse in Bedford. Representatives of Marble Hill, their plan consultants, Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation of New York, Kentucky state consultants and Trimble County representatives were present.

  • States’ bottom lines stabilizing; Ky. on projected target

    As the debate in Washington rages over what the federal government should do to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff, there is some good news when it comes to state government budgets: Most are finally seeing their bottom lines stabilizing.

  • State police plan safety checkpoints

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of December 10 - December 24, 2012.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers.  Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.

    Trimble County Public Library presents A Trimble County Christmas from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to enjoy holiday fun. At 5:30 p.m. make Holiday crafts, pet a sheep, listen to music, enjoy refreshments, read memories and churn butter. AND meet Santa Claus! At 6:30 p.m. there will be Holiday storytelling.

  • EMS event commemorates fallen hero

    On Saturday, family members, friends and co-workers gathered at the Trimble County Emergency Medical Services building to remember and honor the late Mark Rexroat.

    Mark had been an Emergency Medical Technician for the past eight years serving the Trimble County and Henry County districts. Before becoming an EMT he served as the fire chief at the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department.
