• Dorothy Cundiff, 96

    CRESTWOOD, Ky. – Dorothy Cundiff, 96, of Crestwood, formerly of Carroll County, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home.

    Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 15, at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Burial was in Floydsburg Cemetery.

    Mrs. Cundiff was born on Sept. 28, 1911, to the late Alva and Edith Bishop Dawkins of Worthville, Ky.

  • Terry Lee Schaefer, 59

    CARROLLTON, KY.- Terry Lee Schaefer, 59, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008. at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton.

    Arrangements were pending by press time Tuesday; Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave,, Carrollton is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Schaefer was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ky., to the late Robert and Evelyn Schaefer.

    He was a graduate of Wright State University, where he earned a degree in business management.

  • Rodney Dale Cain, 47

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rodney Dale Cain, 47, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at his home in Louisville.

    Mr. Cain was born Nov. 23, 1960, in Louisville to the late Edward F. and Ailene Marlette Cain.

    Survivors include four sisters, Linda Blume of Louisville, Patricia Guenther (Charlie) Logsdon and Penny Medley, both of Brandenburg, and Sarah Hensley of Anderson, Ind.; and two brothers, Michael Cain and Darryl Cain, both of Louisville.

  • William Edgar Powell, 51

    BEDFORD, Ky. – William Edgar “Eddie” Powell, 51, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Bedford Health Care.

    He owned an excavation company. He was a honorary lifetime member of the La Grange Fire and Rescue Department, and was a Baptist by faith.

    Survivors include his daughter, Alisa (Anthony) Penick; two grandchildren; his mother, Joyce Powell; a sister, Debbie Stamper: three brothers, Freddie (Sandi) Powell, Bobby Powell and Tommy (Jennifer) Powell; and several nieces and nephews.

  • Billy O. Fugate, 62

    CAMPBELLSBURG, KY. – Billy O. Fugate, 62, of Campbellsburg died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at his residence.

    Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Ransdell Funeral Home, 441 U.S. 42 West, Bedford, Ky., with Pastor James Montgomery and Sister Kathy Montgomery officiating.

    Mr. Fugate was born June 20, 1946, in Turners Station, Ky., to the late Everett O. and Martha Fugate.

    He enjoyed walking in the woods, hunting, playing on his computer and spending time with his grandchildren.

  • Callie Mae Woods, 75

    CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. – Callie Mae Woods, 75, of Campbellsburg died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at her home.

    She was a homemaker and was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Campbellsburg.

  • Jim Rogers, 64

    Chattanooga, Tenn. – Jim Rogers, 64, of Chattanooga died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008.

    Funeral services were Friday Sept. 5. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, with the Revs. Johnny Nix, Randy Bell and Bill Denham officiating. Burial was in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. Rogers was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. He was employed with Ben Miller and Cool Springs Beauty Supplies. He was a member of Harmon Baptist Church and was active in the bus ministry and Men’s Fellowship.

  • Donald Henry, 45

    GHENT, Ky. – Donald Henry, 45,  of Warsaw died, Friday, Sept. 12, in Ghent.

    A memorial service was Monday, Sept. 15, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home, 108 E. Main St., Warsaw, with Jay Doyer officiating. After cremation, his ashes will be placed in Ghent Cemetery.

    Mr. Henry was born Oct. 19, 1962, in Carrollton, Ky., to the late Herman D. Henry Jr., and to Verna L. Ellis Moore of Warsaw.

    He worked as a mechanic.

  • Wilbur N. Cundiff, 85

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Wilbur N. Cundiff, 85, of Louisville died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Baptist Hospital East.

    Mr. Cundiff was born Mar. 5, 1923. He was a graduate of Male High School and attended the University of Louisville. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

    He worked 42 years for the B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. During retirement, he volunteered with the Blinded Veterans Association and the TARC board.

  • Betty M. Brown, 65

    GHENT, Ky. – Betty M. Brown, 65, of Ghent died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at her home.

    Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 5, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, Ky., with the Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Burial was in the Worthville Cemetery in Worthville, Ky.

    Mrs. Brown was born May 6, 1943, in Worthville to the late John W. and Rebekka (Osborne) Chadwell.

    She was a homemaker and a member of the Macadonia Baptist Church in Jonesville, Ky.
