    The Trimble County student health committee and Physical Education teacher Rachel Barnes have incorporated a new program to get Trimble County Middle School active. Fuel Up to Play 60 is an incentive program, which will allow students and staff to earn points for collectibles and grant money. Monetary grants will be to purchase classroom devices for students to keep their blood pumping, focused and interested.

  • As a child I had three of the common fears; I was afraid of thunder, the dark, and small, enclosed spaces. I was okay as long as I had some sort of light to enable me to make out the objects in the room. For some odd reason pitch black made me feel as if I was smothering. I suppose this is where claustrophobia steps up to the plate. The bottom bunk was impossible for me. In the dark it felt as if I was entombed.

  • The most recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that about 70 million adults in the United States, or 1 in 3 individuals, have high blood pressure. This number may be larger than we realize if we consider that an additional 1 in 3 adults have prehypertension or higher than normal blood pressure numbers.

  • My wife and I recently downsized. As we sifted through nearly 40 years of married life we both struggled with what to keep, what to give away and what needed to be thrown away. The death of a daughter, five siblings, both of our mothers and my father had made us realize the importance of cherishing memories of our times with them.
