    July 17

    The Simply Sharing Homemaker Group meets at 10:30 a.m. at the extension office. The group did not meet in June.

    Pleasant View Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School starting at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 466 Wises Landing Road. All kids are welcome to attend.

    Trimble County Extension Service will host session in food preservation. The first session, beginning at 10 a.m., will cover canning the garden harvest. The second session, beginning at 11:30 a.m., will discuss freezing the harvest. Both sessions take place at the extension office. To RSVP, call 255-7188.

    June 27

    The Trimble County Extension Service and Trimble County Library is hosting a “4-H Babysitting Basics” series. The second session, taught by Maranda Ward, covers becoming safety conscious, first aid, marketing your business and answering the question, “Are you ready to babysit?”. It takes place from 4-8 p.m. at the library. The classes are for students in sixth through 12th grades. There is no cost to attend, but RSVP is required by calling 255-7188 by June 19.

    June 23

    Bedford Baptist Church will host its “In the Wild” Vacation Bible School program, 6:30-8:45 p.m. June 23-27. VBS will have “Amazing Encounters with Jesus” through music, missions, recreation, Bible study, crafts and more. If you need a ride, call 502-255-3240 by 5 p.m. and leave a message with your name, address and telephone number. Before leaving, parents need to complete registration. The family night and picnic begins at 6:30 p.m. June 27. at the church, 1425 U.S. 42 East, Bedford.

    The Trimble County Historical Society meets at 10:30 a.m. at 68 Wentworth Ave., Bedford (behind Campbellsburg Chiropractic). Everyone is invited to attend, see the research room and join the society.

    Tri-County Community Action Agency Board of Directors meet at 10 a.m. at the Henry County Senior Center, 125 Park Road in New Castle. The public is invited to attend.

    The Oldham County History Center will host a public archaeology dig from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Gatewood Plantation site. It is associated with freedom seeker Henry Bibb, who was enslaved at Gatewood Plantation before escaping north to Canada. Children age 13 and up are welcome on the dig but must be accompanied by an adult. Participation is free, but limited. Reservations required.     Trimble County Fiscal Court will have a special-called meeting at 9 a.m. for the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget workshop in the Fiscal Court Building.

    The annual Christopher Goodin Memorial Blood Drive is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Trimble County High School gym lobby. Come and donate to honor Christopher’s memory while providing much-needed blood for those in medical need.     Tri-County Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m. at the Trimble County Extension Office, 43 High Country Lane, Bedford. Tri-County CAA provides services in Henry, Oldham and Trimble counties.

    The Trimble County Historical Society will have its first meeting of the year at 10:30 a.m. at the Trimble County Public Library. All are welcome to attend as the society looks forward to a productive year.
