Middle school salutes 7th Grade Students of Month

Trimble County Middle School Principal Mike Genton has announced the school’s 7th Grade Students of the Month for August and the Teacher/Staff Spotlight.


“We are extemely proud of these people and their hard work,” Genton said.

Olivia Harris is the TCMS Female 7th Grade Student of the Month.  Olivia’s favorite class at TCMS is 7th Grade Reading with Mr. Gamble.  Olivia is a member of the BETA Club, Peer Helpers, and FCA. Her favorite book is Uglies by Scott Westerfield and her favorite TV Show is “Criminal Minds.” Outside of school Olivia enjoys playing softball when she is not at school or studying. Her favorite memory at TCMS is of the first day of school. When Olivia finishes high school she plans to attend the University of Louisville and pursue a career as a Forensic Scientist.

Weston Wentworth is the 7th Grade Male Student of the Month for August.  Weston’s favorite class is History with Ms. Center. His favorite book is the Titanic and his favorite TV show is “Regular Show.” Outside of school Weston enjoys riding his motorcycle and playing his trumpet.  His favorite memory at TCMS is of friends and teachers. After high school Weston plans to attend University of Kentucky and eventually become a policeman.

Ali Maldonado is our Teacher Spotlight for the Month of August in 7th Grade. Maldonado is a graduate of Trimble County Schools and the University of Kentucky. She is in her first year of teaching at TCMS.  Outside of school Ms. Ali enjoys crossfit training and rock climbing with her husband. She also enjoys reading and painting her nails ridiculous colors. Maldonado loves sushi and types of fish, and her favorite thing to watch is a movie (just not scary movies). She is looking forward to this first spirit week to help create some favorite memories for her.

Brittany Carter is our Staff Spotlight for the Month of August.  Brittany has been in education for five years but this is her first year at TCMS. Brittany attended Berea and Midway College. Outside of school she enjoys camping and spending lots of time around bonfires with family and friends. Carter’s favorite food is Mexican and her favorite TV shows are “Criminal Minds” and “Once Upon a Time.” Carter says her favorite memory at TCMS is just being welcomed in a warm and helpful way by all the TCMS staff.
