It took seemingly forever for play to get underway Thursday when Trimble County hosted the Henry County Lady Wildcats in a freshmen/junior varsity/varsity triple-header in Bedford. The referees were nearly two hours late arriving due to a traffic delay caused by a road-blocking traffic accident in Oldham County. Fortunately for the refs, they were not involved but the highway shutdown impeded their progress.

So, when the official word came down this past June from the Detroit Riverfront Events, Inc. and H1 Unlimited Hydroplanes that the City of Detroit would host an unlimited hydroplane race in 2015, boat racing fans reacted with euphoria.
