  • Slow start dooms Lady Raiders at...

    South Oldham’s Lady Dragons gave the visiting Trimble County’s Lady Raiders a shellacking in the first quarter of Monday night’s game at Crestwood and rode to victory on the strength of that one quarter alone.

    Using tenacious defensive pressure to create steals and force rushed shots, South Oldham dismantled their guests quickly to race out to a 21-3 advantage after eight minutes of play. The Lady Dragons continued their scoring onslaught in the second quarter to increase the margin to 21 at halftime, leading 35-14.

    Trimble County’s sixth grade boys opened a round robin tournament in Madison this past weekend with a game against Greensburg, Ind. With a distinct height disadvantage the Raiders had trouble driving and getting shots in the lane.

  • Valiant Raider effort falls short

    An aggressive comeback attempt by Trimble County had Walton-Verona running scared in the late minutes of last week’s opening round game of the 8th Region All A Classic played at Williamstown. After cutting their deficit to two points, the Raiders began firing blanks and Walton-Verona took advantage of three straight turnovers in the final 30 seconds to escape with a 57-48 victory.

  • Oberto is ‘12 hydro champ

    Steve David and the Oh Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison secured the 2012 Air National Guard H1 Unlimited Series championship during the first day of the Oryx Cup UIM World Championship in Doha, Qatar. The championship means the Oberto will again wear the number U-1 for the 2013 season. Jimmy Shane won the Oryx Cup race aboard the U-5 Graham Trucking. Oberto took second.

  • Lady Raiders runners-up in All A...

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders gave a valiant effort against Eighth Region powerhouse Gallatin County Saturday but fell short in their quest for the Eighth Region All A Classic played at Eminence. Gallatin pulled out a 63-54 win.

    Gallatin rolled through an outmanned Carroll County team 71-28 to open the tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 8. On the second night of first-round competition Owen County outlasted Walton-Verona by a 46-45 score. In the second game, Trimble handed the host school a lopsided loss, 74-16

    HADLEY, MA -- Williams College junior forward Taylor Epley earned the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award for leading the Ephs to the title at the Cal Lutheran Thrivent Financial Tournament. NESCAC is a conference of 11 NCAA Division III colleges in New England.
