    A series name change, three new events and return appearances at five others highlight the Grand Prix World (GPW) series for 2017.
    Broadening the scope of its racing sphere from the West coast to National and someday International, Grand Prix West has officially become Grand Prix World and web sites, logos, social media sites, decals and signage now bears the new GPW logo.

    MADISON, Ind. --- When the H1 Unlimited Hydroplanes take to the Ohio River for the MainSource Madison Regatta this weekend (June 30 - July 2), it will be the 67th year the race has been held. And even though it is one of the oldest sporting events in the state of Indiana, changes had to be made to bring the Unlimited Hydroplanes back. This year four H1 teams will be paired up in a series of dual heats leading to a four-boat winner-take-all final heat.

    After a five-year absence from Unlimited hydroplane racing, JW Myers returns to the team where he scored his only win on the H1 Unlimited circuit. In 2005 JW won the Madison Regatta’s Indiana Governor’s Cup driving for Ellstrom Racing. He also scored second place finishes in Evansville and Detroit.

  • HomeStreet Bank announces...

    SEATTLE-- HomeStreet, Inc., the parent company of HomeStreet Bank of Seattle, Washington, announced last week that they are sponsoring the H1 Hydroplane race shop previously operated by Hydroplanes Inc., located in Tukwila, Washington. The shop, which has been used by many of the H1 Hydroplane racing teams over the years, will be rebranded as HomeStreet Racing and will continue to be managed by former Miss Budweiser crew chief Mark Smith.

    Thirteen Trimble County Middle School track team members qualified to compete at the KTCCCA Middle School Track Championship on June 3rd at the University of Louisville Track and Field complex. By the end of the day, the team brought home a state champion, four medals, eight new personal records, and three new school records.
