    The Trimble County High School track and field team competed in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Region 5 Meet Saturday, hosted by Lexington Christian High School. While Trimble’s boys failed to field enough competitors for a team score, Trimble’s women placed sixth with 28 points among their Class A counterparts. Danville took first place with 112 points followed by Nicholas, Owen, Lexington Christian, and Burgin teams.

    As this year’s senior volleyball players are graduating from Berea College, one Trimble County High School senior is packing her bags and gearing up to take one of the team’s vacant spots. On Wednesday, Katie Gonterman signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for NCAA Division III Berea College.

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – An extended stretch of stable weather and seasonably warm temperatures in late April created optimal spring fishing conditions for anglers across Kentucky.
    The calm broke at the end of the month when rounds of storms over a period of days preceded a cold front. In their wake, rivers and streams that had been running low and clear and warmer than normal rose and cooled off a bit.

    MainSource Bank, headquartered in Greensburg, Ind., has signed on as the title sponsor of the 2016 Madison Regatta, which will take place July 1-3 on the Ohio River opposite Milton. In its first year sponsoring the event, MainSource will join returning presenting sponsor, Belterra Casino Resort in supporting the Regatta, which is the oldest race site on the H1 Unlimited Racing series circuit. The 2016 event will be titled MainSource Bank Indiana Governor’s Cup Madison Regatta presented by Belterra Casino Resort.

    Trimble County High School hosted its first track meet at the new sports complex on Monday May 9th. The Trimble County Raider Classic included four middle school teams and two varsity teams. Teams from Owen Middle, Eminence, and South Oldham Middle joined the Trimble County teams in field and track events.

    Trimble County High School’s Lady Raiders tennis team was defeated by Spencer County on Monday, April 25, by a 1-4 score.
    In singles play, Hannah Miracle was defeated by Spencer’s Madison Hedrick by scores of 1-6, 2-6. Trimble’s Destiny Harp scored her team’s only victory by sweeping Stefanie Salandaman 6-4, 6-2. Trimble defaulted in third singles play.

    The Trimble County High School track & field team competed in the North Central Kentucky Conference Meet on Tuesday, April 19, hosted by Walton-Verona. Walton-Verona won both the girls’ and boys’ conference titles. Trimble’s girls placed fourth in the conference. Trimble’s boys placed sixth.
    Individual performances recorded by the Lady Raiders are as follows:
    100 meter dash—Madison Jones, 7th, 15.28; Shelby Papai, 9th, 15.68; and Ashton Hignite, 12th, 17.09.
