    Carroll County traveled to Bedford to take on the Trimble County Lady Raiders and came home with the win 2-0, (25-13, 25-14), Aug. 23, which snapped a seven match losing streak.  Carroll County head coach Lynn Eaglin said she had looked up the last time “we had beaten them and it was Sept. 16, 2014 and we won 2-0 (25-16, 25-22).”

    Andrew Tate’s flying start for Saturday Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Hydrofest President’s Cup championship final heat was reminiscent of the late, great hydroplane driver Bill Muncey.  Muncey was known for great, flying starts as he blew by the opponents to go on and win a race.

    DETROIT---Jimmy Shane knew he had the team and boat to make some noise at the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers Hydrofest and when he did put it all together, Shane came home with the most prestigious trophy of the weekend. Shane in the U-1 Miss Homestreet/Miss Madison made a perfect start in the five-lap championship final heat from lane two and then ran away from the field to capture to the oldest active trophy in all of the motorsports—the APBA Gold Cup for the team’s third win in four years.

    Seattle---Jimmy Shane in the U-1 Miss HomeStreet/Miss Madison and Andrew Tate in the U-9 Les Schwab Tires battled side by side through the final lap of a wild Albert Lee Appliance Cup winner-take-all final heat on Lake Washington. Tate, the winner of last year’s Seattle race, managed to pass Shane on the last lap and again in the final stretch, but it turned out to be all for naught. Tate was assessed a one-minute penalty for dislodging a buoy before the start.

    After eight years of combined experience being a middle school head coach and high school assistant coach, Vanita Fogle was ready to take the reigns as TCHS volleyball head coach after her mentor, Ruth Staples, retired.
    “I love Trimble County volleyball, and I want us to continue to be successful,” she said.
