    Trimble County’s young Raider basketball team closed out the 2015-16 regular season schedule Friday on a night that honored the team’s two seniors, Ryan Blanton and Josh Rexroat. Following a hard fought game, the Raiders found themselves on the short end of a 66-41 score at the hands of Lloyd Memorial. Despite the loss, Trimble coach Stacey May remained upbeat with the performance of his youthful team and the progress they have made this year.

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders closed the regular season at home Friday by feting the team’s five seniors and celebrating a 65-37 win over visiting Lloyd Memorial.

    Two highlights in the Lady Raiders’ win Friday night were played out in separate quarters as junior teammates Shelbe Black and Kaylee Clifford sank baskets that achieved the 1,000th point of each girl’s varsity basketball career.
    It was a pleasant surprise to both girls who had no prior knowledge that they were close to the milestone.
