  • Runnin’ Raiders compete at state cross country meet

    Trimble County’s Runnin’ Raiders took 10th place in the boys’ state cross country meet Saturday while the girls placed 15th. The event was held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

  • Trimble says goodbye to seniors in KCD loss

    Against a cold, rainy backdrop, Trimble County High School closed its 2012 football season with a 49-0 loss to Kentucky Country Day. The KCD Bearcats charged into the first quarter with three touchdowns, bringing the score to 22-0 by the end of the first half, despite a resurgent drive by the Raiders. The Bearcats continued their scoring streak throughout the first half, resting at halftime with a score of 43-0. Several of KCD’s scores came after missed tackles by the Raider defense.

  • Panthers dominate first half as Raiders fall 59-13

    In an eagerly anticipated game between two close rivals, the Carroll County football team defeated the Trimble County Raiders 59-13 on Friday, Oct.19.

    The Raiders faced an onslaught of tough offensive plays from the Panthers, as Carroll scored two touchdowns by John Michael Adams and Tyshaun Embs minutes after kickoff, 13-0.

  • Trimble runners impressive at Woodford Invitational

    The Trimble County “Runnin’ Raiders” made a strong showing in the Woodford County Invitational cross country meet held Saturday at the Woodford County Park in Versailles.

    Eighteen schools participated in the boys’ meet, 13 fielded complete teams and Trimble’s boys’ team placed fourth overall.

    “This is pretty darn remarkable,” Trimble Coach David Apel said, “considering all but one other school who participated were bigger schools than Trimble -- only Paris and Trimble were 1A schools.”

  • TCMS Spirit Week

    Spirit is contagious, at least that is what the teachers, students and staff at Trimble County Middle School would say. The week of Sept. 17-21 was named Spirit Week at TCMS. During this week there were scheduled themes for each day. Everyone was encouraged to participate. The cheerleaders came up with the themes and set different incentives for those who showed the most school spirit.

  • Trimble harriers running strong as season nears end

    The Trimble County High School Runnin’ Raiders have been forcing the competition to scramble to keep up in recent outings.

    Trimble was in action Saturday in the South Oldham Dragon Invitational. The Runnin’ Raider boys took fifth place overall in a meet dominated large schools. Christian Apel had Trimble’s top time with 17:58.13 for the 5K distance. Conner Ball timed in at 18:11.17; Kyle Puckett, 18:37.56; Tray Robbins, 10:03.85; Brennan Kunkel, 20:15.24; and Johnathan Papai, 20:26.66.

  • Trimble shines in local meets

    Trimble County’s Runnin’ Raiders hosted two meets in cross country last week. In Tuesday’s outing both Trimble teams took first place. In Saturday’s larger meet, Trimble’s girls again took the top spot while the boys took third place behind North Oldham and Owen County.

    Trimble’s Erin Gonterman took first place overall in both girls’ competitions.

    Trimble junior Christian Apel finished second in Tuesday’s race and seventh among the boys on Saturday. Full details will be published next week.
