  • Trimble cross country competes at Louisville meet

    Trimble County’s cross country runners returned to action Friday in the prestigious Trinity/Valkerie Invitational, held at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville. The event drew teams from schools in four states.


  • Lady Raiders topple W-V, battle hard in All A Classic

    In a final tune-up prior to the Touchstone Energy All A Classic State Volleyball Tournament the Trimble County Lady Raiders overcame a determined team of Walton-Verona Lady Bearcats to win 25-21 and 25-23 Thursday at home.

    The largest lead of either team was Trimble’s 8-2 advantage in the first game. In that contest the score was tied six times. The score was knotted nine times in the second game. Trimble led 24-20 but allowed the Lady Bearcats to score three times to pull within one point, at 24-23, before Trimble closed the door.

  • Trimble harriers compete in three meets in eight days

    The Trimble County Runnin’ Raiders have literally been on the run during the past several days competing in three meets around the area. While failing to field enough runners for team scores in the girls’ events, Trimble’s athletes nevertheless have posted strong individual times. Trimble’s boys were also short-handed at the North Central Kentucky Conference meet at Carroll County last Wednesday but rebounded for a strong performance at North Oldham Saturday.

  • Trimble in 2nd All A Classic Sat.

    Trimble County’s volleyball team will travel to Jeffersontown, Ky., Saturday to compete in the 2012 Touchstone Energy All A Classic Volleyball Tournament. The appearance will be Trimble County’s second consecutive in the elite Sweet Sixteen of class A champions from the 16 regional sites around the state. This year’s tournament will be held at the Mid America Volleyball Center in Jeffersontown.

  • Lady Raiders remain undefeated in conference play

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders continue to reign supreme over North Central Kentucky Conference opponents in high school volleyball. Trimble claimed victories last week over Gallatin County (2-0) at home and Owen County (2-1) at Owenton.

  • Lady Raiders survive aggressive, determined Carroll team

    It wasn’t always pretty, but it was a win.

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders managed to pull out a win on the road against the Carroll County Lady Panthers 3-1 Thursday night, despite not playing their ‘A’ game.

    Trimble head coach Ruth Staples said to come out with a win when your team plays bad is “encouraging.”

  • TCMS Raiders open with win

    The Trimble County Middle School football Raiders kicked off their season in grand fashion last Thursday evening when they hosted Carroll County Middle School Panthers. The Raiders routed the Panthers 38-12 by playing exceptionally well on three out of four phases of the game.

    Bradey McCane, who leads the offense as quarterback, ran for one touchdown and threw for another to connect with Kaje Brummett.

  • Trimble cross country ready to scramble

    The 2012 cross country season got underway Saturday for the Trimble County High School harriers who joined with runners from nearly 40 schools in Kentucky and Indiana to compete in the Tiger Run in Louisville. The host school for the event held at Louisville Champions Park was St. Xavier High School.

    Although 30 schools managed to field a complete team, Trimble’s ladies failed to field enough runners to compile a team score. There were 281 runners who competed in the girls’ 5K.
