  • Lauster to resign as Raiders head coach

    Trimble County school officials will be on the hunt for a new boys’ varsity basketball coach before the 2011-12 season rolls around. Bob Lauster announced his intention to resign during the school’s annual awards banquet on Monday. Lauster verified his intentions in a statement sent via email to The Trimble Banner yesterday.

  • Raiders romp at Mason Dixon Games

    The Trimble County “Runnin’ Raiders” track team tested their skills against 24 Class A schools from around the state Saturday taking fourth place among the girls and seventh place among the boys. The event was the Mason Dixon Games, held at Louisville’s Broadbent Arena. The Mason Dixon Games is considered the Indoor State Track Championship in Kentucky.

  • TCHS track at Oldham

    The Trimble County High School “Runnin’ Raiders” competed in the Spring Thaw Classic at Oldham County High School in Buckner last weekend.
    Kyle Howdyshell took second place in the boys’ 3000-meter run, breaking the school record with a time of 10:05.20. Christian Apel placed fifth. Kylie Wilberding placed fifth in the girls’ 3000-meter run.
    In the girls’ 4x800-meter relay, Brandi Chappell, Jessica Cooley, Erin Gonterman & Morgan Chappell took third.

  • Raiders close cage season with District loss

    The Trimble County Raiders were ousted from post-season play early, falling on Feb. 22 to Oldham County 57-39 in the first round of the 29th District Tournament at South Oldham High School.
    Trimble trailed 14-6 after eight minutes of play and 27-13 at the half. The Raiders pulled to within 27-20 in the third quarter but trailed by 10, 32-22, after three quarters of play.

  • Ladies’ post-season hopes end in first round

    Trimble’s Lady Raiders closed out their 2010-11 basketball season on Feb. 22, falling to host South Oldham, 68-23, in the first round of the 29th District Tournament.

  • Raiders enjoy big wins on hoops court

    It hasn’t been a banner year for the Trimble County Raiders varsity basketball team, but it has been exciting – particularly last week.

    On Saturday, the Raiders handed a 49-40 loss to the Williamstown Bearcats at this year’s Homecoming game – revenge for an earlier match up in which Williamstown took a 66-58 victory.

    That followed on the heels of a breath-taking win Tuesday, Feb. 1, against the Raiders’ arch rival, the Carroll County Panthers – also a home game.

  • Trimble defeats CCHS Panthers a second time

    After beating their archrival -- the Carroll County Panthrs, in the first round of the All-A Classic on Jan. 19 (49-41), the Trimble County High School Raiders were triumphant again over the cats in a rematch in Raider country Tuesday night, Feb. 1.

  • Hoops Homecoming court announced

     

    Saturday’s Homecoming celebration will include three boys games at Trimble County High School – the freshmen Raiders will be the first to face off against Williamstown at 5 p.m., followed by the junior varsity matchup at 6 p.m. This year’s King and Queen will be crowned before the start of the varsity game, set for tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
