  • Lady Raiders enjoy ‘invaluable’ experience in All A Classic

    “I did not see a bad team in the tourney!”

    That was Trimble County Coach Ruth Staples’ assessment of the competition in Saturday’s All A Classic state tournament in Paducah.

    Trimble came in third in pool play, landing the Lady Raiders in the Bronze Division, according to Staples.  

    Trimble was defeated by Bardstown Bethlehem, 0-2, and Allen Central, 0-2, before defeating Burgin, 2-1. Trimble then fell to Raceland, 1-2.

  • Runnin’ Raiders keep active pace

    Trimble County’s “Runnin’ Raiders” cross country team has gotten off to a rapid start competing in three events since the season-opening event at the St. X Tiger Run on Aug. 27.

  • Girls defeat Williamstown on links

    The Trimble County girls’ golf team defeated Williamstown with season’s best team score of 204 to Williamstown’s 227.

    Haley Baker posted her best round of the season with a 48 by sinking a 30 foot putt on hole 7.

    Brooke Huff shot a 51 and Charissa Huff and Kate Staples had solid rounds with a 52 and a 53.  Kaitlin Harmon shot a 69.  Trimble’s girls hosted Carroll County yesterday. Results were not available at press time..

  • Two Trimble golfers qualify for state meet

    On Thursday, Aug. 25, the Trimble County boys’ golf team participated in the All “A” Classic regional at Fairway Golf Course in Wheatley, Ky. The team placed third with a combined score of 331. Owen County took second with a 329 and Walton-Verona won the event with a score of 313 and their team will move on to the state finals on Saturday Sept. 10.

    The Trimble boys played well despite the fact that Walton and Owen use Fairway as their home course. Tanner Stark shot an 89, Craig Ward had his best 18-hole match with a 90 and Conner Beard shot a 92.

  • Trimble roasts Carroll in sweat match

    The Trimble County High School gymnasium was much like a sauna on a sultry Thursday evening last week as the Lady Raiders hosted Carroll County in volleyball. Trimble jumped to an early lead and never trailed in either contest en route to wins of 25-17 and 25-14.

    Trimble Head Coach Ruth Staples noted her team at times had a tendency to coast after building a large lead. In the opening contest Trimble fronted 22-10 before allowing the Lady Panthers a run that brought them within 24-17 before Trimble closed the door.

  • Lady Raiders take Class A title

    Trimble County’s dominance was tested only once in Saturday’s Class A Volleyball Tournament at Williamstown. With simultaneous action happening on dual courts the Lady Raiders opened the tournament by easily sidelining Eminence with scores of 25-12 and 25-13. At the same time Owen County battled to wins of 25-20 and 25-19 over Carroll County. In the other first-round game, Walton-Verona beat the host team 25-21 and 25-16.

  • Raiders outrun Greyhounds for Bedford Bank Bowl title

    Trimble County High chalked up its second win of the season Friday night at the annual Bedford Bank Bowl, in only their third game this year. The Raiders delivered a stunning blow to the Paris Greyhounds, with a final score of 24 to 20.

  • Lady Raiders take 2 of 3 on the road

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders won two of three road contests in volleyball in the past week. Trimble defeated Williamstown last Tuesday by scores of 25-13 and 25-17. Trimble took their only defeat of the season at Oldham County on Thursday by scores of 11-25 and 14-25. The Lady Raiders bounced back to beat Eminence on Monday by scores of 25-9 and 25-19.
