Football: Trimble’s building season comes to close

The Trimble County Raiders played their last football game of the season Friday night at Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville, resulting in a disappointing 53-0 loss for Trimble.

Despite KCD’s financial advantages as a private school, Head Coach William Blair encouraged the Raiders before they arrived on the field: “This game is for the most competitive people,” said Blair.

Runnin’ Raiders compete at S.O.

The Trimble County High School cross country team traveled to Crestwood Saturday to compete in the South Oldham Dragon Invitational.

Trimble’s boys took sixth place of 11 teams competing in the 5k run. The top five runners for the Raiders were Christian Apel, who finished 17th overall; Kevin Bailey, 20th; Connor Ball, 22nd; Kyle Puckett, 46th; and Tray Robbins, 50th. There were 88 runners in the pack who finished the run.

Lady Raiders’ record run ends

A timid performance Tuesday against number one seed Oldham County in the second round of 31st District tournament play in Crestwood spelled the end of Trimble County’s most successful season in volleyball history.

Raiders much improved in 2nd loss to unbeaten Eminence

The Trimble County Raiders gave a valiant effort in their second attempt at taking down undefeated Eminence (6-0) on Friday. The Raiders relinquished a 16-12 halftime lead and fell behind 24-22 after three quarters of play. Trimble had possession of the ball, trailing 30-22, with a chance to tie when time ran out. The Raiders were short one touchdown and a two-point conversion of pulling even when the Warriors shut down a fourth down and four play at the horn.

Lady Raiders earn first 20-win season in TCHS history

The Trimble County Lady Raiders inscribed their names in the Trimble County High School record books Monday night by securing the school’s first-ever 20-game winning season in volleyball. Trimble upended visiting Eminence in two games by scores of 25-11 and 25-19.

Football managers: They serve behind the scenes

Managers can be found almost everywhere; offices, restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals - the list goes on and on. In the stands at a football game on a Friday night, look very closely and through your squinted eyes you may see another type of manager. The three blue-clothed teens standing along the sidelines are managers of the football team. And that brief glimpse may be the only recognition they receive the entire night.
