  • TCMS track competes in conference meet

    The Trimble County Middle School track and field team competed in the North Central Kentucky Track Conference Meet at New Castle on Thursday, April 26.

    Trimble’s boys finished third overall. Individual results were as follows:

    100 meter dash—Evan Simmons, sixth, 12.87; and Michael Russett, eighth, 13.72.

    200 meter dash—Josh Rexroat, fifth, 26.67; and Evan Simmons, sixth, 27.27.

    400 meter dash—Michael Russett, fifth, 1:07.31; and Ryan Blanton, eighth, 1:15.63.

  • TCHS basketball athletes feted at annual banquet

    Trimble County High School celebrated the individual accomplishments of the 2011-12 basketball season last week during the school’s annual Basketball Awards Banquet.

    Hardware issued to the female athletes of the Trimble County Lady Raiders basketball team was presented as follows:

    Sara Kate Long was the recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award and an Academic Award.

    Academic Awards were also presented to Sara Kuner, Olivia Cooley and Hannah Davis.
    Senior Sydney Brewer received the Team Player Award.

  • Tennis: Trimble Boys win NCKC Tournament

    The Trimble County High School boys’ tennis team competed in the North Central Kentucky Conference tournament held April 14-15 at Walton Verona Athletic Complex in Verona, Kentucky.  

    Teams from Trimble, Carroll, Gallatin and Walton-Verona competed for the tournament  title with two doubles teams and two singles players representing each school.

  • SPRING SPORTS: TRACK & FIELD

    Trimble County High School’s track and field athletes are again hard at work this spring, making the best of the same handicap that has plagued all previous Raider track teams before them—the lack of a track facility on which to practice or host competitions.

    Nevertheless, “we have had a great start to the season,” first year Head Coach David Apel said. Apel succeeds longtime track mentor Jeff Vincent who was dismissed by the Trimble school system in January.

  • Lady netters win at Williamstown

    The Trimble County High School girls’ tennis defeated Williamstown last week. In No. 1 Singles Trimble’s Kalee Cookdefeated Sarah Hicks, 8- 0. In No. 2 Singles, Trimble’s Sabrina Vest defeated Julie Fryman, 8-0. In No. 3 Singles play, Trimble’s Elisabeth Moore defeated Savanna Moss, 8-1.
    In No. 1 Doubles Trimble’s duo of Alex Lawhorn and Micah Hess defeated their opponents 8-0. In No. 2 Doubles, Trimble’s Ciarra Harmon and Whitney Wingham defeated Hayley Mulling and Alexis Whaley, 8-3.

  • TCHS SPRING SPORTS: BASEBALL

    Trimble County Head Baseball Coach Frank Ragland is hoping to improve on the accomplishments of last year’s Raider team that compiled a 12-13 record. Ragland lost three members of that team—Cameron Adamski, Jimmy Duncan and Luke Sands—to graduation.

    Despite bright spots, which included taking runnerup spots in the 8th Region All A Classic and the North Central Kentucky Conference tournament, the Raiders came up short in the first round of the District post-season tournament.

  • TCHS Tennis Wrapup

    Trimble County High School’s boys and girls tennis teams lost four matches in the past two weeks, against teams from Shelby County High School, Frankfort High School, North Oldham County High School, and Western Hills High School.

    According to boys coach Leslie Cutshaw, however, “the final match scores don’t entirely reflect the performance of the players throughout the games.”

  • Trimble track results from Henry, Oldham

    The Trimble County High School track team competed in the Henry County All Comers Meet at New Castle on Tuesday, March 27, with both girls’ and boys’ teams bringing home second place finishes.

    Trimble’s girls, with 64 points, were runners-up to North Oldham (132 pts), and placed ahead of Henry County (43) and Eminence (6).

    Trimble’s boys, with 79 points, were runners-up to Henry County (117 pts), and placed ahead of Eminence. North Oldham did not bring a team to the boys’ meet.
