  • Lady Raiders runners-up in All A Eighth Region

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders gave a valiant effort against Eighth Region powerhouse Gallatin County Saturday but fell short in their quest for the Eighth Region All A Classic played at Eminence. Gallatin pulled out a 63-54 win.

    Gallatin rolled through an outmanned Carroll County team 71-28 to open the tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 8. On the second night of first-round competition Owen County outlasted Walton-Verona by a 46-45 score. In the second game, Trimble handed the host school a lopsided loss, 74-16

  • Raiders win two of three home contests to go 10-5

    The Trimble County Raiders rebounded from a bitter loss to Walton-Verona to start the new year on Jan. 2, by punishing Williamstown and North Bullitt in games played in the familiar confines of Trimble County High School gymnasium this week.

    Trimble led 15-13 after a quarter of play but built the advantage to 33-22 at halftime en route to a 70-53 drubbing of North Bullitt on Monday. The Raiders outscored the visitors 18-10 in the third frame.

  • Lady Raiders defensive effort dooms Spencer County

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders bounced back strong from an overtime loss earlier in the week to claim a dominating 67-40 win on the road at Spencer County Saturday.

    “We got a good win Saturday,” Trimble Coach Kerrie Stewart said by telephone Monday. “During the first half it was fairly tight but we started playing well in the second quarter.”

  • Lady Raiders end loss streak

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders returned to top form in the wake of three straight losses, defeating host Burgin 64-55 in the Herrington Lake All-A Classic holiday tournament Thursday.

    “In the first half it was a game of back and forth,” Trimble Head Coach Kerrie Stewart said Friday. “We had three girls – Jessie Dunlap, Erin Gonterman and Mila Consley – on the bench early in foul trouble.”

  • Raiders riding high with four-game win streak

    The Trimble County Raiders were riding a four-game winning streak into the second round of the Silver Grove Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, following a first-round, 75-72 win over the host school Thursday night.

    The Raiders fronted 13-10 after a quarter of play and continued to hold a three-point (36-33) advantage at halftime. Trimble spread the margin to 57-44 after three quarters of play, but the Big Trains (yes, that’s the Silver Grove mascot) came chugging back to outscore Trimble 28-18 in the final eight minutes for the eventual three-point margin.
