  • Track competes at Oldham

    The Trimble County High School track team competed in the Oldham County Kickoff Classic Meet at Buckner Friday. The results for Trimble’s girls are as follows:
    Girls’ 3200 meter run—Kylie Wilberding, 7th, 13:34.42
    Girls’ 4x400 meter relay—4th, 5:07.54
    Girls’ 800 meter run—Ashley Brierly, 15th, 2:46.50; Kylie Wilberding, 17th, 2:49.01; Kirsten Baird, 23rd, 3:01.47; Shelby Papai, 30th, 3:12.51; Tessa Chilton, 31st, 3:16.23; Savannah Moore, 32nd, 3:26.85; and Katie Liter, 34th, 3:45.45

  • Walks, errors result in loss to Gallatin

    The Trimble County Raiders struggled defensively on the baseball diamond Monday. The result was a 5-3 loss to visiting Gallatin County.
    “The bottom line tonight, no walks, no errors, we win,” Trimble Coach Frank Ragland said. “That’s the difference in the game.”
    After getting out the side in order in the top half of the first inning, Trimble put a run on the scoreboard when Michael Dunaway powered a double deep into center field scoring Brian Haney who had walked earlier.

  • Baseball era begins at TCMS

    The Trimble County Middle School Raiders began their inaugural baseball season by defeating Carroll County in both the 8th grade and 7th grade contests at Carrollton.
    The 8th grade team began the night jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with a walk to David Duncan followed by a single by Derrick Harris. Evan Kunkel drove in the game’s first run scoring Duncan. Brayden Sedam followed that up by driving in Harris on a sacrifice.

  • 2014 TCHS tennis teams

    The Trimble County girls’ tennis team was defeated by the Franklin County Flyers, Thursday, by a match score of 1-4.
    According to Coach Vanita Fogle, Trimble forfeited in the Nos. 1 and 2 singles because of one injured player and two players out sick. In No. 3 singles Trimble’s Kim Abbett played Sal Marella and was defeated 0-6, 0-6.
    Trimble’s No. 1 doubles duo of Micah Hess and Alex Lawhorn was defeated by Lili Williams/Mary Gracee Amato 2-6, 0-6.

  • Eighth Region honorees
  • District Tourneys set next week at North Oldham H.S.

    The Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s 29th District Basketball Tournament gets underway Tuesday, Feb. 25, and continues Wednesday, Feb. 26. Championship games will be played on Friday, Feb. 28. All games will be played at North Oldham High School, located at 1815 South Highway 1793 in Goshen.

    The Trimble County Raiders will face South Oldham in Tuesday night’s boys’ contest, which will be played at about 7:30 p.m., following the girls’ 6 p.m. match-up between Oldham County and North Oldham.

    The Trimble County Raiders bounced back from their heart-breaking 56-55 loss to Carroll County in the boys’ 8th Region All A Classic to defeat Frankfort’s Western Hills High School in a dramatic, 49-44 road win Thursday.
    Trimble trailed the Wolverines by a 11-6 score after the first eight minutes of play and matched their hosts point for point in the second period to continue to trail by five, 23-18, at halftime.

  • Lady Raiders’ All A tourney run ends in Elite Eight

    Trimble County’s exciting run in the Touchstone Energy All A Classic tournament came to a disappointing end with a 65-48 second round loss to Newport Central Catholic on Friday.
