Kentucky State Parks announced Dec. 19, that it will solicit requests for three of its 9-hole golf courses, including General Butler State Resort Park.
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) will be issued for the 9-hole golf courses at Carter Caves State Resort Park in Olive Hill and Kincaid Lake State Park near Falmouth. Kentucky State Parks is looking for a private concessionaire to operate these two courses.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kerry B. Harvey, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, has announced his resignation, effective Friday, January 13, 2017. U.S. Attorney Harvey has served in office since May 14, 2010.
This week, the General Assembly returns to the Capitol to begin the 2017 Regular Session. Although the House and Senate are as old as Kentucky, this is only the ninth odd-year legislative session since our current state constitution was adopted in the late 1800s.

I fought hard during this first week of the 2017 session of the Kentucky General Assembly to protect the interests of Kentucky’s working families against a rising tide of wealthy corporate interests, but in the end, our best efforts were blocked by the new ruling majority in the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Sulphur, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police at Post 5 Campbellsburg is investigating a shooting which occurred Sunday in Henry County on Hollow Tree Road.
At approximately 5:12 p.m. Sunday, January 8, Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg received a call from a residence on Hollow Tree Road in the community of Sulphur in Henry County. According to Trooper Joshua Lawson, it was reported that Gloria Campbell, 59 of LaGrange, had been shot in the leg and a second shooting victim had fled the scene.
New Castle, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police at Post 5 Campbellsburg is investigating a stabbing in Henry County on LaGrange road, according to a news release issued by Trooper Joshua Lawson, Post 5 public information officer.
At approximately 6:30 pm Wednesday January 4, Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg received a call from a residence on LaGrange Road outside New Castle. It was reported that Emmet Pendleton, 55 of New Castle, had been stabbed and the suspect had fled the scene.

FRANKFORT – With the possibility of wintery weather moving into the state Thursday, the Kentucky State Police is cautioning motorists to be prepared for hazardous driving conditions.
“Winter driving can present formidable challenges including sleet, snow, slick roads, freezing temperatures and reduced visibility,” KSP spokesman Trooper. Josh Brashears said in a statement. “It can be a deadly combination if you’re not prepared.”
