  • Time flies, whether you’re having fun or not, so Happy Thanksgiving!

Let’s see, the last time I checked, it was still October. Honestly, I blinked and suddenly tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I really don’t know how that happened.

’Tis the season, so let me remind everyone that if your organization has changes to its regular meeting schedule because of the upcoming holidays, please let me know so the Community Calendar on Page 7 will be accurate. Send an email to pcodling@mytrimblenews.com.

  • Department clarifies previous letter

    To the editor:

Milton Fire and Rescue would like to respond to a letter published in last week’s paper.

  • Festival committee thanks ‘Haunted Train’helpers

    Editor:

The Haunted Train was a great success. On behalf of the Carroll County Tobacco Festival, we thank all the volunteers for their help  and support to make the Haunted Train and the Castle of Doom a success. Also we thank the committees for all the long hours and hard work.

  • Still finding reasons to be thankful this holiday season

Finding reasons to be thankful can be difficult during the holiday season.

I have never been a big fan of the holidays, even when my now 16-year-old daughter was a toddler and excited by the big family gatherings. Although I have never had a terrible holiday experience, I don’t remember a time when the season did not make me sad.

  • Volunteer asks businesses to embrace festival

    Editor:

On behalf of the Carroll County Tobacco Festival, I am writing this letter to the editor.

About 14 people pull together and put on the festival every year. We put this on as a tradition to the community and the farmers now and of the past. We are trying to keep the heritage going on for our younger generation.

  • Fund-raiser beneficiary says thanks for the help

    Editor:

“Thank you” doesn’t quite express how grateful I felt for all of the love and support shown by my family and friends. The monies raised enabled me to remain in my home and pay several illness related expenses.

Beyond the monetary support the expressions of love and encouragement from my community helps me have courage and faith during the hard days of recovery that lie ahead.

  • League thanks volunteers

    To the editor:

The Trimble County Youth Football League has wrapped up another fun season. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for the many contributions we received throughout the season.

To the parents of our players/cheerleaders, for the dedication of your time, bringing the kids to practice and games, volunteering in the concession stand, running the chain gang and the other help you all offered throughout the season, thank you.

  • Parents should listen to their children

    To the editor:

First of all I would like to congratulate Mrs. [Kimberly] Temple for her being re-elected to the Trimble County School Board. Mrs. Temple and her family are what I call good people and I know she will continue to do what we the people expect of her. I would also like to thank the ones that voted for me, an outsider at that. Thank You.
