This is something the people of Milton and Trimble County need to think about. First off, I hope the Tornado Victims Benefit Concert on Saturday, March 31, was a great success. There were several victims in Trimble County that lost everything they own and others that needed help. I wish them the very best.

Trimble County Emergency Management would like to thank the following for their help and support during the recent tornado that hit our county.

Trimble County Emergency Search Unit, Milton Fire and Rescue, Bedford Fire and Rescue, Trimble County Sheriff’s Dept., Ky State Police, Trimble County EMS, Ky Fish and Wildlife, American Red Cross, Shelby Energy, KU, Trimble County Road Dept., Rita Davis, Paul Whitman, Shelby County EMA, and anyone and everyone who helped in any way.

Please take up the voice of Kentucky citizens to defeat another tax increase.

House Bill 368 is working through the Legislature. This bill will enable cities across the state to charge an additional three percent tax on restaurant sales. This is a fifty percent tax increase on restaurant meals. This is a sneak attack to raise taxes on every citizen in the Commonwealth.
These taxes will just be passed on to the citizens, and make every restaurant meal more expensive.

All citizens and members of the community are reminded that it is the time of the year when the Bedford Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is asking for your help with yearly subscriptions. These subscriptions are used to fund the department with utilities, training, fuel, equipment, maintenance of building and equipment, and other needs to serve the community in the Bedford Fire District.
