  • Reader enjoyed Callis Grove article

    Editor:

As a current member on the board of Callis Grove camp meeting I read with great interest the article last week in The Banner about the camp. I would like to express my sincere thanks for the wonderful article you wrote. The pictures were good also. It took some people back to the old days of camp meeting. I talked to some who said they remembered those days. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into the article. Not only myself but I heard others comment on what a good article it was. Thanks again.

  • Band Booster expresses thanks for band support

    Editor:

The Trimble County Band Boosters would like to thank Lois Adair and Debbie Noblin for being so helpful and nice to the band last week during Band Camp. It takes a community to support small band programs like we have at Trimble County and these ladies are fine examples of the community.

  • Cross country parent writes in support of Coach Vincent

    Editor:

I am writing in regards to the article that was in the July 20 edition entitled “TCHS track/cross country coach suspended.” The parent that provided the information for the paper failed to mention some important facts. My daughter has been a part of the track/cross country team for three years and I feel I may have some things to add.

  • Reader supports Coach Vincent

    Editor:

On a personal note, I have known Jeff Vincent for six years because of his strong and prosperous team that he coaches. He not only supports and encourages kids on his own team; he also does the same for others such as me.

  • Senior Carnival sponsors appreciated

    Editor:

The Senior Carnival was a great success Friday, July 1. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of local businesses and people.

  • Crusade volunteer expresses appreciation

    Editor:
I have collected for the Crusade for Children for 29 years as a member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department.  My home territory includes both Bray Ridge and Gills Ridge.  I want to commend my neighbors and friends for their generosity again this year.  I was able to collect nearly $957.00 in checks, plus a bucket of loose change.  People literally flagged me down when they saw me around the farm, mowing grass or checking on the cows, to give me their money for the Crusade.

    Scruples

    Editor:

Forty-five years I have proudly been active in the grass roots movement, from local elections and state elections. During that time I have seen it all from good servants of we the people to the good old boys that fool the voters to place them into the seat of power. Many of our elected officials here at home and sometimes beyond are the cream of the crop and they well deserved our support and votes.
