FRANKFORT, Ky – District Court Judges Jerry D. Crosby and Diane E. Wheeler, who serve Henry, Oldham and Trimble counties, participated in the 2012 Kentucky District Judges College that took place Sept. 16-19 at Lake Barkley State Park in Cadiz. The Administrative Office of the Courts provided the judicial education program for the state’s District Court judges. The program included 19 hours of continuing education credit for the judges.

The congregants of the Milton United Methodist Church will celebrate the 180th anniversary of the congregation during the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Oct. 7.

Bro. Jack Couch will give the morning message at the celebration. Several members will be honored for their past and current service to the church. A pitch-in meal will be served at the conclusion of the service.

At 4 p.m., Monday, Milton and Bedford Fire Departments responded to the report of a field fire on Riverview Drive on the Milton hilltop. The fire was located in a field east of the Milton Fire Station No. 1 and west of Moffett Cemetery.

Firefighters arriving on the scene found a large cornfield on fire. The fire quickly spread to around 40 acres of the cornfield, from which the crop had recently been harvested.
