  • Luttrell on Dean’s List

    Bluegrass Community & Technical College is proud to recognize Trimble County resident Rebecca S. Luttrell who has achieved Dean’s List honors for the 2011 Spring Semester. The college recognizes academic excellence by naming to the Dean’s List full-time students who have earned an overall semester grade point average of 3.5 or better in courses numbered 100 or above.

  • Hudson on Dean’s List

    The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Hannah Hudson of Milton has achieved the Dean’s List.

    Hudson, a Science Education major, made the Dean’s List for academic achievements during the Spring Semester 2011. To make the Dean’s List, a student at UE must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

  • Rabies clinic is June 4 at local schools

    The Phoenix Animal Clinic, in conjunction with the Trimble County Health Department Environmental Services, will be hosting a Rabies Clinic June 4 from 10 a.m. till noon at Bedford Elementary School and from 1-3 p.m. at the Milton Elementary School.

    Kentucky State Regulations require that animals be vaccinated by the age of four (4) months and re-vaccinated before the expiration of the immunization period as certified by the administering veterinarian. Any animal owner found not having an up-to-date rabies vaccination might be penalized.

  • Trimble among counties eligible for emergency loans due to flooding

    On May 4, President Barack Obama declared 14 Kentucky counties as disaster areas due to damages and losses caused by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred from April 26, 2011, and continuing.

    Those counties include: Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Carter, Fleming, Gallatin, Kenton, Lawrence, Morgan, Nicholas, Oldham, Owen and Washington.

  • Leap, Taylor to wed May 21

    Dawn Michelle Leap and Ryan Matthew Taylor, together with their parents, announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roger Mefford and Darlene Mefford. Dawn graduated from Carroll Co. High School in 1995 and is employed at North American Stainless, Ghent, Ky.

    Ryan’s parents are Gary Taylor of Bedford and Dawn Peak of Milton. Ryan is a 2004 graduate of Trimble County High School and a 2007 graduate of Jefferson Community Technical College and is employed at Progress Rail, Louisville. 

  • Curnutte to receive scholarship

    Nathan Alan Curnutte, son of Patricia Bradley of Bedford, has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship to attend Georgetown College. Nathan, a senior at Trimble County High School, will receive the scholarship upon matriculation in the fall.

    Presidential Scholarships are also academic scholarships, recognizing students for their academic achievements. 

    Recipients must maintain a high level of academic performance to remain eligible for the award each year.
