  • Apple Festival Pie Contest

    The Trimble County Apple Festival Committee will hold its annual Apple Pie Contest on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Judging will take place at 11 a.m. at the Bedford Inn Bed and Breakfast, located on the courthouse square in Bedford, Kentucky.

     

    Rules for the Apple Pie Contest are as Follows:

    1. One entry per person.

    2. Disposable aluminum pie plates must be used!

    3. Entries will be taken from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Bedford Inn Bed and Breakfast side entrance.

    No late entries will be accepted!

  • Health retreat event is Sunday

    The Grand Opening of the Harmonizing Health Retreat, located at 1028 New Hope Rd., Bedford, will be held Sunday Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. until the day is done.

    Activities scheduled during the event include: Walk the Labyrinth, Drumming circle with story telling, Dance the Zodiac with Daniel Lally, crafts and art, and Doc Liston’s fun with songs of the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s. View our remodeled rental cottage.

    Friday: Hamburger or cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, pickle, French fries, peach half, fresh fruit, ice cream cup

    Week of Aug. 15-19

    Monday: Corn dog, baked beans, broccoli, carrots with dip, Madarin oranges, watermelon wedge.

    Tuesday: Taco salad in a bag, corn chips corn, lettuce, tomato, salsa, pineapple, fresh fruit.

  • Stark heads state magistrates

    Trimble County Magistrate Stephen Stark was recently sworn in as President of the Kentucky Magistrates and Commissioners Association. County Judge/Executive Randy Stevens administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials at the Annual Joint Conference of Magistrates and Commissioners and County Judge/Executives.

  • TCHS successful at FFA leadership camp

    On July 11, six local FFA members left Trimble County High School in Bedford for the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center in  Hardinsburg, Ky.

    Cody Heveline, Ethan Merrill, Corey Cornett, Trenton Welch, Kyle Puckett and Kim Abbett had a very busy week that included waking up at six a.m. and not going to bed until nearly midnight.
