  • Historical Society presents gifts in Christmas event at library

    The members of the Trimble County Historical Society held their annual Christmas Dinner Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Trimble County Public Library.

    After a delicious meal, U.S. Army Col. Glenn Fisher (ret.), Historical Board Chairman, on behalf of the Masonic Lodge F. &A.M.#158, presented Lisa Wegner, Library Director, with a copy of a cookbook compiled by four of the churches in the county.

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of Dec. 5 – 19, 2011.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers. Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.

  • Two Louisville men charged in burglary

    On Nov. 1 a gentleman came home to his residence on U.S. 42 near Bray’s Orchard and observed two males coming out of his house carrying a license plate and a jewelry box.

    The individual reported the incident to police and gave a description of the vehicle in which the two suspects were traveling.

    The Trimble County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 42W and Sulphur Road of a black GMC Envoy.

  • College Application Week a success

    Trimble County High School had a 100% completion rate from the senior class for College Application Week, according to Brigette Kunselman, school guidance counselor. The 82 members of the class successfully completed 177 applications to colleges and universities.  In addition, they downed 450 pieces of bacon, seven gallons of milk and juice, and enough pancakes and waffles to feed a small army at their pancake “kickoff” breakfast.
