  • Hearing for LG&E application for fly ash landfill is tomorrow, 7 p.m

    Louisville Gas & Electric Company and KU Services Company has submitted an application to the Energy and Environment Cabinet, Division of Waste Management, in Frankfort to construct a special waste landfill at the LG&E Trimble County Generating Station at Wises Landing on the Ohio River.

    The Cabinet has scheduled a public hearing to be held ontomorrow evening, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Trimble County Extension Office, 43 High County Lane in Bedford.

    All concerned residents are encouraged to attend the hearing

  • Senior Scramble Saturday

    The 19th Annual Senior Citizens Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, beginning at 9 a.m. at Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Bedford.

    Golfers are invited to bring your own four-man team. The event will feature a $10,000 hole in one contest.

    The $55 entry fee includes the green fee, cart rental and lunch. Call 502/255-7770 to register your team.

    Everyone is invited to come out and support our senior citizens.

  • Milton Christian revival begins tonight

    Milton Christian Church, 35 School Hollow Road in Milton, will host a revival, beginning tonight, Sept. 21, and continuing through Fri., Sept. 23. The theme of the series of meeting is “Get Plugged In.”

    Each service has an emphasis related to the “Get Plugged In” theme. The emphasis of tonight’s service is “The Source—Legend or Truth?” Thursday’s emphasis is “The Plug—Welcome Mats.” The emphasis of Friday’s meeting is “The Connection—Don’t Quit.”

  • Vernon Craig recognized for 25 yrs. service to election board

    Longtime Trimble County educator, coach and school administrator Vernon Craig was cited Friday for his lengthy tenure of service in another public capacity.

    During a special meeting of Trimble County Fiscal Court Judge-Executive Randy Stevens read a proclamation expressing appreciation for Craig’s 25 years as a member of the Trimble County Board of Elections, from Nov. 18, 1985 to Dec. 31, 2010.

  • Elaine Jett is pie contest winner, pie auction generates $558

    The Trimble County Apple Festival Apple Pie contest was held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Bedford Inn Bed & Breakfast.  This year had a great number of bakers to enter the competition.  Fifteen unique and delicious pies were entered.  The judging lasted just over two hours with a local baker being named the blue ribbon prize winner.

  • Div. of Forestry offers tree seedlings for planting during dormant season

  • 3 injured in 421 crash

    Three persons were injured in a traffic accident on U.S. 421N at 5:51 p.m. Friday. Kentucky State Police said a vehicle driven by Josh Wainscott, 24, of Carrollton, pulled from a body shop into the path of a vehicle driven by Caileigh Kidd, 22, Madison. Kidd and a passenger, Angela Ledcke, 42, of Bedford were transported to The King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison and Wainscott was transported to Baptist Northeast Hospital for on-life threatening injuries.

  • Apple Festival pie contest

    The Trimble County Apple Festival Committee will hold its annual Apple Pie Contest on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Judging will take place at 11 a.m. at the Bedford Inn Bed and Breakfast, located on the courthouse square in Bedford, Kentucky.

    Rules for the Apple Pie Contest are as Follows:

    1. One entry per person.

    2. Disposable aluminum pie plates must be used!

    3. Entries will be taken from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Bedford Inn Bed and Breakfast side entrance.

    No late entries will be accepted!
