“Bob’s Bunch Battling ALS” will hold a fundraiser to raise funds for ALS research at the Morgan Community Center in Bedford on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event was originally scheduled for March 3 but the tornado that struck the Milton Fire Station No. 2 on the day before forced the cancellation of that event.

Saturday’s event is being held to bring continued awareness to the local region about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease.”

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Disaster recovery officials urge recipients of federal grants to use the money wisely and to keep receipts and other documentation for at least three years as proof the funds were spent as intended.

Upon releasing the funds by direct deposit or check, the Federal Emergency Management Agency sent every recipient a letter providing important information about the grant and outlining how the money can be spent.

A daylong event Saturday at Trimble County Park may not have drawn a huge crowd, but did manage to raise $2,100 for those affected by the March 2 tornadoes that cut through the county.

Myrna Persell of Milton, who organized the event with Lenny Hensley, estimated about 100 people stopped by for the antique car and tractor show and to hear performances by local bands at the park shelterhouse. Scriber’s Station in Eminence provided food and refreshments.
