Teen Leadership Trimble recently completed its fifth year of helping students “make a difference.”  Twenty-two freshmen and sophomores learned about their community through trips focusing on industry/agriculture, government, history, arts and humanities, and educational empowerment.

Bedford Postmaster Denise Dewitt has issued a crime alert notice.

A number of postal customers have been receiving bogus emails regarding a package allegedly sent through the postal service. When the email recipient opens the email it activates a virus in their computer.

“We would like to warn people not to open the link,” Dewitt said. “The post office does not send notices of packages, nor do we charge for holding packages.”
 

FRANKFORT, Ky.--Some  survivors of the severe storms and tornadoes that struck Kentucky Feb. 29 through March 3 may not have registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for assistance because of misconceptions or lack of accurate information.

With the deadline to register for federal assistance less than two weeks away on May 7, it’s important that all survivors who suffered damage in the disaster register as soon as possible.
