  • Ila Allen: Living to be 100 one prayer at a time

    How does someone live to be 100 years old? Is there a secret? According to Mrs. Ila Allen there is not. She believes good nutrition and prayer are the greatest contributing factors to living a long and healthy life. Ila celebrated her hundredth birthday on Oct. 17, 2014. Her late husband celebrated his 103rd, birthday in April 2013. I went looking for a secret to longevity, but realized it wasn’t a secret, but rather a lifestyle filled with the Lord, prayer, fasting, nutrition and faith.

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – Trimble County Circuit Court Clerk Stacy Bruner participated in the 2014 Circuit Court Clerks Fall College that took place Sept. 23-25 at the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort. The AOC provided the education program for the state’s circuit court clerks.

  • Haley Wright ready for Philly parade

    For the second year in a row, a Trimble County teenager will be participating in the historic Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, in Philadelphia, Pa.
    Fourteen-year-old Haley Wright, Bedford, will appear with an all-American group of cheerleaders from around the country performing dance routines along the 1.4-mile parade route.

  • Bedford Bash celebrates 25 years

    August 15 will be a milestone for the Bedford Bash as the community celebrates the event’s 25th anniversary.
    The annual event originally started with sales at local businesses in 1990, said Jon Dunlap, senior vice president of president of Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank.
    The first year, then called “Fantastic Friday,” had Payne Crafton and the Sweet River Band performing while Farmhouse Restaurant had a sale on fish and Little Town and Country also sold food at a discount, Dunlap said.
