  • Bedford fire chief talks about training, department history

    The Bedford Volunteer Fire Department has provided essential services to the city and surrounding areas since its inception in 1959. Fire chief Will McCoy took time Tuesday to talk with Rotary about the department’s manpower, continual equipment upgrades and responding to the call.

    McCoy has been fire chief for two years and a member for 14 years. A 2002 graduate of Trimble County High School, he also worked as a prison guard in La Grange until 2010, when he was hired by Trimble County EMS.

  • Coleman takes third in Ky. PGA Junior tour

    Gideon Coleman, 13, of Bedford finished in third place for the boys 14 and under division of the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour’s Spring Stableford No. 2 tournament March 31 at Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa in Lexington.
