    Trimble County Board of Education Public Hearing regarding the proposed tax levy will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Board Office at 116 Wentworth Ave. in Bedford.
    The Trimble County Board of Education’s Sept. 6, 2017 regular meeting date has now been changed to a Special Called Meeting to be held on Sept. 7, 2017. This meeting will follow the Public Hearing Meeting that is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Trimble County Board of Education Office.

    “The Moving Wall,” a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., is returning to Carroll County Sept. 7-10.
    An opening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7. Afterwards, the wall will be open for viewing 24/7 until the closing ceremony at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. Carrollton National Guard Alpha Battery 2nd 138th Field Artillery will provide around-the-clock security for “The Moving Wall.”

  • Preventative maintenance work to begin Sept. 9 on Hwy 55 in Trimble County

    Louisville, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet recently awarded a contract for a preventative maintenance project on KY 55 in Trimble County. This project involves application of a cost-effective treatment, known as a cape seal, to extend the life of the pavement. The construction limits are from the Carroll/Trimble county line to the Trimble/Henry county line (mile markers 0.0 to 1.1).

    The Trimble County Apple Festival holds its 27th year celebration, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9 and 10 at the courthouse square in Bedford. The mission of the Trimble Co. Apple Festival is to raise funds for local schools, civic and community groups or activities which support and promote the betterment of our children, citizens and/or community.

    FRANKFORT — Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles released the following statement Monday:
    “The people of Kentucky stand with those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Even though land separates us, we are one people. When I started the Kentucky Hunger Initiative to identify solutions for food banks in our state, we learned a lot about the specific needs facing Kentucky. However, we know hunger is not limited by geographical boundaries. Food banks in Houston are working hard to feed hungry people during this time of crisis.
