  • Boys’ tennis falls in 8th Region

    The Trimble County Boys Tennis team competed in the Region 8 tournament last Monday at Franklin County High School. Thirty two doubles teams and Thirty three singles were entered in the contest. Trimble fielded four teams, Dylan Stethen played singles in the first round losing to seventh seed player Ben McDonald from Anderson County.  The doubles team of Brandon Bird and Damon Husband saw first round play against Western Hills High School. Brandon and Damon were eliminated in the first round.

  • Trimble athletes score five firsts at track regional meet

    Trimble County High School will be sending several athletes to Thursday’s state meet at the University of Louisville following stellar performances at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Class A Region 5 track and field meet at Danville High School in Danville, Ky.

    The other day a co-worker posted on Facebook that it had been the week from hell.

    We had all felt it. It was as if a black cloud hovered over us, raining down all kinds of bad.
    We had made mistakes. Tempers flared. Fingers pointed.

    Cranky people called, which didn’t help our own crankiness.

    We scowled. We skulked. We wished we were anywhere but here.

    It was one b-a-d week.

  • Tourism plays major role in Kentucky’s economy

    When it comes to tourism, Kentucky has not one but two major factors in its favor: We have dozens of destinations that all but sell themselves, and we’re home to the nation’s population center east of the Rockies, meaning no state is closer to more Americans.

  • Milton Dept. receives grant

    During emergencies, it is vital that firefighters have the tools to do their job effectively and efficiently. Communication is key to coordinating operations and ensuring the department performs well as a team and stays safe. Now, thanks to a $20,000 grant awarded by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, the Milton Fire Department will have new state-of-the-art communication equipment.

  • KSP plans checkpoints

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of May 21 - June 4, 2012.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers.  Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.
