The heatwave gripping Kentucky will continue at least through Wednesday, the National Weather Service office in Louisville says.
But temperatures will slowly moderate but only by a degree or two until highs on Wednesday, July 4 will be in the mid 90s.
A series of thunderstorms moved through Kentucky on Sunday night causing many power outages along the way as wind gusts of more than 50 mph, according to the weather service, knocked down several trees that caused power to go out.
