  • Brewer, Pyles to wed July 9

    Morgan Carlysle Brewer of Lander, Wyoming and Joel Stephen Pyles of Milton, Kentucky announce their engagement and approaching wedding.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bob and Leslie Brewer of Lander, Wyoming. She is a 2010 graduate of Central Wyoming Community College and is employed with Limpons Big R Farm and Ranch in Riverton, Wyoming.

    The groom-to-be is the son of Michael and Carole Pyles of Milton, Kentucky. He is a 2008 graduate of Milligan College and is employed with Fremont County School Districts 1 and 14 in Wyoming.

  • Fisher family welcomes baby boy

    Jimmy and Hannah Sachleben Fisher wish to announce the birth of their second child, second son.

    Ethan Bennett Fisher was born May 24, 2011 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, Ind. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21-1/2 inches in length.

    Ethan has one brother, JD Fisher, 18 months.
    His paternal grandparents are Jim and Kim Fisher, Whitestown, Ind. and Rae and Johnny Huff, Avon, Ind.

    His maternal grandparents are Alan and Suzanne Sachleben of Bedford.

    Thursday, June 30
    The Trimble County Alumni Association will meet at the Trimble County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. The meeting is open to all persons interested in event planning for next year’s Alumni Banquet and the upcoming centennial of Trimble County High School.

  • Sheriff seeks help with investigation

    The Trimble County Sheriff’s department is conducting an ongoing investigation into several thefts in recent months. Some of the crimes may have connections to other surrounding counties, according to Sheriff Tim Coons.

    Among the items stolen have been radiators and tire rims from automobiles, electric cable and other items. Burglaries have occurred at numerous residences and some churches, Coons said.

  • New powerboat series will see U.S. debut at regatta

    Powerboat P1 USA will launch the much anticipated P1 SuperStock Series in the United States at this weekend’s Madison Regatta.

    The dramatic format enhancements from traditional powerboat racing, coupled with the spectacular new boats in the world’s largest one-make class of powerboat racing, provide the broadcasters and legion of fans with the change and excitement that the sport has been seeking.

    The P1 events will include endurance racing on Sunday and rapid fire, head-to-head Match Racing on Saturday.

  • The fleet’s in: 12 Unlimiteds set to battle for Cup

    As reported last week, driver Dave Villwock is looking to become the sport’s all-time winningest driver as the Air National Guard Series starts its 2011 season at the 61st annual Madison Regatta in Madison, Indiana over the Fourth of July weekend.

    But to get the record, Villwock will have to overcome the most competitive fields in decades.
