  • LOOKING BACK

    30 Years Ago (July 16, 1981)

    The new principal for TCHS is Larry Moore. He is a graduate of Hanover College and Ball State in Muncie, Ind. and recently taught at Southwestern in Madison. His wife, Carolyn Moore will continue her assignment in Southwestern.

    The 4-H youth Fair and Peach Festival will be Friday and Saturday at the Trimble County Middle School. Exhibits, booths, fun and games will be available for everyone. Dancing both nights at 9 p.m. On Sunday at 1:30 p.m. a horse show will be held on the grounds of the Saddle club.

  • General Assembly worked to improve Medicaid savings

    One of the General Assembly’s top priorities this year – fixing a short-term deficit in Medicaid while putting the program on a path toward long-term savings – took a major, even historic, step forward last Thursday.

    That morning, Governor Beshear announced three companies had been hired to manage the care of most of those enrolled in Medicaid. These companies are joining Passport, a state-created entity that has already been doing the same type of work in Jefferson and 15 surrounding counties for more than a decade.

  • Ginn, Fox to wed July 28 in D.C.

    Ramona Lucas and Stanley Ginn are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Amanda Catheryn Ginn to Caleb Roy Fox, son of Brent and Melinda Fox of LaGrange, Ky.

    The wedding will be Thursday July 28, 2011 in Washington, D.C.

    There will be a reception in their honor on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 7 p.m. at LDS Chapel, 6401 Westwind Way, Crestwood, Ky.

    Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
    The couple will reside in Louisville.
     

  • Breeden, Thacker set wedding plans

    Bentley Robert Thacker proudly announces the upcoming marriage of his parents.
    Brittany Breeden and Richard Thacker, both of Milton.

    Brittany is the daughter of Joyce Tharp of Milton and is a 2010 graduate of Trimble County High School.

    Richard is the son of Phyllis Thacker of Milton and a 2009 graduate of Trimble County High School. He is employed with Townsend Tree Service.

    A private wedding is set. Invitations will be sent. The reception will follow at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011.

  • Luellen issues results of clerk’s office 2010 audit

    State Auditor Crit Luallen has released the audit of the 2010 financial statement of Trimble County Clerk, Jerry Powell. State law requires the Auditor to conduct annual audits of county clerks and sheriffs.

    The audit found that the Clerk’s financial statement presents fairly the revenues, expenditures, and excess fees of the Trimble County Clerk in conformity with the regulatory basis of accounting.
