  • TCHS track teams compete at Carrollton

    The Trimble County High school track team competed in the Carroll County All Comers Meet at Carroll County High School last week.

    Trimble’s girls brought home a second place finish among nine teams competing. The boys finished seventh among eight teams.

    Trimble’s female athletes and their events included:

    100 meter dash—freshman Ashby Drake, 20th, 16.36; sophomore Savannah Moore, 21st, 16.80.

  • Middle school recognizes March standouts

    Trimble County Middle School Pricipal Mike Genton has recognized the TCMS 8th Grade Students of the Month and the Teacher and Staff Spotlight for March.

    Gabrielle Murray is the 8th Grade Female Student of the Month. Gabby’s favorite class at TCMS is Math. Gabby is a member of the band at school and also participates in marching band. Gabby’s favorite book is The Halo Series, and her favorite TV show is “Big Brother.” After high school Gabby plans to attend Morehead State University and become a veterinarian.

  • Wrestling academy students had busy winter schedule

    Wrestlers from Punishment Wrestling Academy located in Milton, have been busy this winter in wrestling tournaments around the local area.

    On Feb. 5, 2012, they competed in a wrestling tournament at Jeffersonville High School in Jeffersonville, Ind.

    Trimble County High School’s boys’ tennis program has five returning players this season and three new faces. One of the new faces is Leslie Cutshaw, the new head coach of the boys’ tennis program this year.

  • TCHS girls’ tennis confident, young

    The Trimble County High School girls’ tennis team will try to build on the stellar example of Kasi Fogle, last year’s lone graduate from the team, as they work to improve on the 4-7 record compiled by the 2011 Lady Raiders.

    Fogle was the 2011 North Central Kentucky Conference singles winner with a 16-2 season record as Trimble’s top singles player. Fogle had a loss at the regional and at the state tournament.

    All this past week I’ve been talking to people with scars for a series of stories that I wrote for the newspaper where I work.

    I got the idea from a photographer I heard on the radio, talking about a series of photos he had done of people’s scars.

    He said that every scar tells a story.
