    Trimble’s oldest and finest homes are on the Trimble County Historical Society’s tour this Sunday-Ransdell Home, located behind the Courthouse; the Old Mosser house, located in the Mt Carmell Community; The Long Farm overlooking the Ohio River; and the Old Cook Place, located off 421 towards Campbellsburg.

  • State ends fiscal year with surprise surplus balance

    There have been several positive signs in recent months that the worst of the recession may finally be behind us, but perhaps the best indication yet for Kentucky came late last week. That’s when Governor Beshear announced that state government ended the just-completed fiscal year with nearly $157 million more than expected.

  • Poker run comes through county Aug. 21

    The second Helping Kids in our Neighborhood Poker Run is expected to attract about 200 bikers this year to aid Carroll County children in need this Christmas. The route includes a section of Trimble County.

    Organizer Kenny Jones said there has been a great response already this year for the Aug. 21 poker run, which begins and ends at Sunset Grill in Warsaw.

    Trimble County Magistrate Stephen Stark was recently sworn in as President of the Kentucky Magistrates and Commissioners Association. County Judge/Executive Randy Stevens administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials at the Annual Joint Conference of Magistrates and Commissioners and County Judge/Executives.

    Customer Appreciation Day today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Milton Municipal Building.  Menu is hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, dessert, & drinks. There will be door prizes & also an inflatable for the children. This is free to the public.   
    Milton Elementary is hosting its open house at 5:30 p.m.; 15-minute grade-level presentations begin with first grade at 6 p.m.

    Trimble County Middle School hosts its back-to-school open house from 7-8:30 p.m.
