    30 Years Ago (May 6, 1982)
    Mrs. Mike Wright was coming home from work Friday morning and around 1:30 a.m. at the Standard station, a man got out of a car and began waving a pistol. Fearing the worst, she tramped the accelerator hard and careened around the gun wielder. Deputy Sheriff Glenn Wheeler was called at 2:04 and William Dillenger was lodged at 3:45. He was charged with wanton endangerment in the 2nd degree and DUI. Released on a $1.00 unsecured bond.

  • Legislative session included several high-profile issues

    Each legislative session is inevitably remembered for a key issue or two, and this year’s will undoubtedly be recalled for the toughest budget most of us have seen in our lifetime and for taking a comprehensive approach on drug abuse.

    There were several other high-profile issues as well, including the legislature’s latest effort to crack down on copper thefts and making sure that the interest on the sizeable federal loan for the state’s unemployment insurance fund is covered so businesses wouldn’t lose a much-needed tax credit.

  • TCHS SBDM seeks input on new principal

    The Trimble County High School Site Based Decision Making council is seeking input on qualities local residents would like to see in the new high school principal. Please be watching for an e-mail with the survey attached or stop by the high school office to complete the survey.

    Surveys will be available from Tuesday, May 1, through Tuesday, May 8. Surveys are due Tuesday, May 8.

  • Wilson family welcomes baby boy

    Michael and Amber Wilson would like to announce the birth of their son Derek Nolan Wilson. Derek was born March 24th 2012 at 8:29 am. He weighed 7lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Rob and Amy Johnson, Campbellsburg; David and Karen Wilson, Smithfield; and Billie Jo Sexton, New Castle.

    Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held at 7 p.m. at Hopewell Community Church. Everyone welcome.

    Morgan Community Center Spring Fling yard sale is from 9-3. Set up fee is $20 for both days with proceeds for the Bedford Springs Park building fund.
