  • Trimble designated among drought disaster counties

    FRANKFORT, Ky. - Governor Steve Beshear Monday announced that Trimble is among a number of additional Kentucky counties that have been classified as drought disaster areas by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Other area counties included in the declaration include Carroll, Gallatin, Owen, Franklin and Shelby.

  • Alex Ginn makes dean’s list at Centre

    DANVILLE, KY – Trimble County resident Alex Ginn has been named to the winter/spring dean’s list at Centre College, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average.

    Alex is the son of  Terry and Shelly Ginn of Bedford and is a graduate of Trimble County High School.

    Centre College, founded in 1819 and chosen to host its second Vice Presidential Debate in 2012, is ranked among the U.S. News top 50 national liberal arts colleges, at 42nd in the nation.
     

  • FFA Camp: A summer to remember

    This summer the local Trimble County FFA went to FFA camp in Hardinsburg, Ky. It was the week of the 23-27 of July, which was a pretty hot week. During this week we worked on our communication skills, fished, canoed, made some new friends, team building skills on a ropes course, and even saw a hypnotist.

    We also had the opportunity to climb one of the oldest trees in Kentucky. The week was a very fun week. It was also a great memorable experience for our chapter.

  • Trimble’s lady golfers see action

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders golf team broke into the win column Wednesday with a win over Gallatin County at Sugar Bay by a score of 213 to 261. The Lady Raiders were led once again by Hayley Baker with a strong 49. Kate Staples added a 50, Brooke Huff a 51, which included a 50 foot plus putt. Megan Turner and Sidney Gossom gave Trimble a choice of scoring 63s and a non-scoring 63 while Kaitlynn Harmon had a non-scoring 67. The girls are improving with each match and look forward to the next match on Tuesday the 21st of Aug.

  • Trimble trips Henry County

    The Trimble County Lady Raiders defeated Henry County for their fourth straight win of the young 2012 volleyball season Thursday.

    Trimble handled the Lady Wildcats 2-0, winning by scores of 25-16 and 25-14.

    “As a team we were strong in our serving for the match with 45 of 48 serving, and 18 aces,” Trimble Coach Ruth Staples said.

  • 2012 TCMS Football Raiders
  • Youth Football League underway

    The Henry and Trimble County Youth Tackle Football League kicked off their season on Saturday, August 18, with the annual Jamboree at the Trimble County Park in Bedford. Over 400 people came to see the young tackle football players make their final preparations for the regular season.

    The games are played at the Henry County Recreation Center and the Trimble County Park on Saturdays through the beginning of November.
