  • Mershall, Cauley to wed Nov. 11

    Joey and Donna Mershall of Bedford, Ky. would like to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter Ashlee Dawn to Clay Cauley of Carrollton, the son of Terry and Debbie Cauley. The couple became engaged in May 2010.

    The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Trimble County High School. She graduated from Western Kentucky University in May 2010 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She is currently employed at Dr. Eric Kelley’s office in Bowling Green as a Dental Hygienist.

  • Vernon Craig recognized for 25 yrs. service to election board

    Longtime Trimble County educator, coach and school administrator Vernon Craig was cited Friday for his lengthy tenure of service in another public capacity.

    During a special meeting of Trimble County Fiscal Court Judge-Executive Randy Stevens read a proclamation expressing appreciation for Craig’s 25 years as a member of the Trimble County Board of Elections, from Nov. 18, 1985 to Dec. 31, 2010.

  • Elaine Jett is pie contest winner, pie auction generates $558

    The Trimble County Apple Festival Apple Pie contest was held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Bedford Inn Bed & Breakfast.  This year had a great number of bakers to enter the competition.  Fifteen unique and delicious pies were entered.  The judging lasted just over two hours with a local baker being named the blue ribbon prize winner.

    Trimble County Middle School will hold a “Ins and Outs of Getting Your Child through Middle School”  program from 5-7 p.m. for parents of all three grades. Attend and learn tips for helping your child meet goals for completing their class.

  • Kentucky to assist in evaluation of bridge

    Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has directed the Ky. Transportation Cabinet to send a team of bridge inspectors, engineers and consultants to help evaluate the I-64 bridge and assist the State of Indiana and the Federal Highway Administration.

    LOUISVILLE - Indiana and Kentucky transportation and law enforcement officials announced traffic plans aimed at managing extraordinary traffic congestion on the first work day following Friday’s closure of the Sherman Minton Bridge over the Ohio River between west Louisville and New Albany, Ind.

    The congestion will affect traffic throughout the Louisville and Southern Indiana region, not just those commuting across the Ohio River, officials warned.

  • Hearing set for LG&E application

    Louisville Gas & Electric Company and KU Services Company has submitted an application to the Energy and Environment Cabinet, Division of Waste Management, in Frankfort to construct a special waste landfill at the LG&E Trimble County Generating Station at Wises Landing on the Ohio River.
