  • Shelter delayed again

    The process of hiring a project manager to oversee the construction of a new animal shelter for Trimble and Henry counties hit a snag late last week when the leading candidate for the position took his name out of consideration.

    The individual hired for the role is to be a paid county employee in charge of lining up subcontractors to complete each stage of constructing a 2,100-square foot, concrete block animal shelter facility for $250,000 on land donated to Trimble County by Republic Services, owners of the Valley View Landfill.

  • 2010 TCHS graduate studying in England

    EVANSVILLE, IN--The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Hannah Hudson of Milton, Ky., will spend the Spring 2012 semester studying abroad at Harlaxton College, University of Evansville’s British campus near Grantham, England. Hudson, who is majoring in Science Education, is among 183 students who began classes today at Harlaxton, housed in a 120-room Victorian manor. She is a 2010 graduate of Trimble County High School.

  • 2 injured in accident on Ky. 316

    Two Shelby County residents were transported by Air Methods, Inc. helicopters to Louisville hospitals following a single vehicle traffic accident near Bedford Thursday.

    Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg responded to accident at 7:02 p.m. Their investigation revealed that Donny Jones, a 40 year-old Shelbyville resident, was traveling east on Ky. 316 when he drove off the roadway and struck a tree with the driver’s side of the vehicle. Jones had to be extricated from the vehicle by Bedford Fire and Rescue.

  • KSP plans safety checkpoints

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of January 16 - 30, 2012.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers.  Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.

  • New Life Assembly to host guest speakers Sunday

    Missionary evangelists Don and Doris Carver, Louisville, Ky., will be the guest ministers at New Life Assembly of God Church, 266 Church Street, Bedford. The service is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m., according to the Rev. Ralph Yantz, Pastor.

    Don and Doris Carver will minister under the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. There will be special singing, preaching of the gospel and an opportunity for everyone to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Prayer will be offered for the sick. Come with an expectation to receive from God.
