  • Milton seeks to fill commissioner seat

    There is an open seat on the Milton City Commission following the resignation of former Commissioner Tom Mahoney.

  • Bedford Commission fighting sewer issues

    The Bedford City Commission voted Monday, Feb. 17, to start sending a sewer bill to the Bedford Fire Department.

    Commissioner Darrell Harmon had reported during the government body’s January meeting that the department does not pay for sewer or garbage. Harmon said the Kentucky Public Service Commission advised the city several years ago that everyone, including the Morgan Community Center, should be charged for sewer service.

  • LG&E landfill hearing today at TCHS

    A public meeting is being held by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Trimble County High School gymnasium to explain the application process and answer questions concerning an application submitted by Louisville Gas & Electric and KU Services Company for a permit to construct a special waste landfill at the utility’s Trimble County Generating Station.

  • Price sentenced in Goodin case

    Logan Robert “Robbie” Price will serve 60 days in jail, 60 days of home incarceration and eight months probation for his guilty pleas on 12 counts of terroristic threatening 3rd degree and six counts of attempted theft by extortion in connection with threats that were made on the life of the late cystic fibrosis victim Christopher Goodin and other members of Goodin’s family, and attempts to extort money from the family in late June, 2013.

  • UP In SMOKE Blaze destroys Bedford residence

    A Thursday afternoon structure fire in the 200 block of Spring Avenue in Bedford destroyed the home of longtime resident Terry Olivigni.

    According to Milton Fire Chief Jason Long, the Milton and Bedford fire departments were dispatched to the scene behind the Trimble County Courthouse at 2:44 p.m. on Feb. 13.

    “Fire units arrived on scene and found a two story house with fire coming out one side,” Long said in a statement.

  • Two arrested in Trimble meth lab

    Two people were arrested Wednesday night, Jan. 29, after Kentucky State Police troopers found a meth lab in an apartment on McDowell Lane in Bedford.
