  • TCMS’s Kirsten Baird wins Meet of Champions open

    On Saturday Oct. 29 the Trimble County Cross Country Team competed in the KTCCCA Meet of Champions at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.  Trimble County Middle, Bedford Elementary and Milton Elementary schools had eight runners to attend. Students from all schools in Kentucky were invited to this state championship meet.

  • Trimble’s Runnin’ Raiders qualify for KHSAA state meet

    Trimble County High School’s cross country team enjoyed an excellent showing at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 1A Region 5 Cross County Championship Saturday. The event was held on the campus of Lexington Christian Academy in Lexington.

    Trimble took first place in the boys’ competition with a score of 65 in the 5K run, out-pointing Sayre (68), Bracken County (84), Burgin (84), Danville (97), Owen County (132) and Lexington Christian (139).

  • Alumni assistance sought for TCHS centennial

    The next meeting of the Trimble County Alumni Association will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the new Trimble County Public Library.

    The alumni association as it currently exists was organized in 1964 to enable alumni of both Trimble County High School and the former Milton High School to stay connected with each other, hold an annual sit-down banquet/reunion and sustain camaraderie among former school mates in the years beyond the classroom. At the second banquet in 1966 the attendees established college scholarship for deserving senior graduates.

  • KSP to conduct safety checkpoints

    The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the counties of Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Owen, Carroll and Gallatin during the period of Nov. 21 – Dec. 5, 2011.

    The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for high visibility public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration of vehicles and the licensing of drivers.  Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed in accordance with Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws.

  • National Emergency Alert System scheduled to test at 2 p.m. today

    The United States will experience its first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System this afternoon.

    The 3 ½ minute test will occur at 2 p.m. EST on Nov. 9, and is being conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Communications Commission and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

    Wednesday, Nov. 9
    Trimble County Middle School will honor veterans in our community with a visual exhibit, as well as a short program from 9-9:45 a.m. Refreshments will be provided afterward.

    Friday, Nov. 11
    Trimble County Fiscal Court will hold a work session at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, to discuss animal control ordinances. The public is invited to attend and give feedback on animal control and what should be included in documents of enforcement for the county’s soon-to-be-hired animal control officer.
